3. Name of the Register

Signing on the UTUshop, the online shop of the University of Turku.

4. Purpose of Use of the Register

The purpose of use of the register is to maintain the customer register of UTUshop and to handle and archive customers’ orders.  The register is also used to follow up lost deliveries. Information may be used for developing UTUshop’s operations and for statistical purposes. Personal data is handled within the terms of personal data protection law.

Data of the register may be used in UTUshop’s own registers for the aim of allocating advertisements without assigning personal data to third parties.

UTUshop has the right to publish customer register’s information as electronic or written lists unless the customer specifically forbids it. This means for example mailing stickers for direct advertising. Customers have the right to forbid publishing their customer information by informing it to the UTUshop customer service by email utushop@utu.fi or to the registrar.

5. Register data

The customer register contains the following information:

  • Name of the company
  • VAT number of the company’s
  • First and last names of the person
  • Email address
  • Postal address
  • Phone number
  • Information on the processed orders
  • The follow-up information of the orders by the postal service

6. Assigning Data

Register data can be assigned for the internal use of the University of Turku and for the marketing of products, services, events and trainings. Register data is not assigned to third parties.


7. Register’s Data Security

The right to use the register requires the user rights of UTUshop´s internal web. The register is stored on a server which is protected by UTUshop´s password.
